Ingredients
- 1 EL Olive oil
- 500 g Mixed ground meat
- 1 Large onion (diced)
- 2 EL Tomato paste
- 500 g Gnocchi
- 800 ml Vegetable broth
- 200 ml Heavy cream or cooking cream (Nutritional values may vary depending on the product used.)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 1 TL Oregano
- 1 TL Sweet paprika
- 60 g Parmesan, grated
- 100 g Spinach
Steps
- 1
Heat the olive oil in a large pot.
- 2
Add the mixed ground meat to the pot and brown thoroughly.
- 3
Dice the onion, add it to the ground meat, and sauté for several minutes until translucent.
- 4
Add the tomato paste and briefly sauté it to develop a rich roasted flavor.
- 5
Add the gnocchi to the pot. If desired, sauté them for a few minutes until lightly golden and crisp in places.
- 6
Deglaze with the vegetable broth and cream.
- 7
Season with salt and pepper, oregano, and sweet paprika.
- 8
Cover and simmer the one-pot dish over low to medium heat for about 5–10 minutes, until the gnocchi are cooked and the sauce becomes nicely creamy.
- 9
Stir in the grated Parmesan.
- 10
Add the spinach and let it wilt briefly.
- 11
Serve immediately. Toasted bread is a great accompaniment for mopping up the remaining creamy sauce.
Notes
The author recommends toasted bread as a side dish. Nutritional values may vary slightly depending on the products used. No exact duration is specified for letting the spinach wilt.
