Ingredients

  • Ice (as needed)
  • 1.5 tbsp Hibiscus simple syrup (to taste; recipe uses 1 1/2 tbsp)
  • 2 oz Unfiltered apple juice
  • 2 oz Lemon juice (Listed twice as 1 oz (30 ml) each)
  • 8 oz Sparkling water (Source gives a range of 8–10 oz (240–300 ml))
  • Apple (Diced, for garnish)
  • 2 Hibiscus tea bags (For the simple syrup)
  • 4 oz Hot water (For the simple syrup)
  • 0.5 cup White granulated sugar (For the simple syrup)

Steps

  1. 1

Combine the hibiscus tea bags and hot water. Let steep for 5 minutes.

  2. 2

Remove the tea bags. Add the sugar and stir until it has completely dissolved.

  3. 3

Let the syrup cool, then transfer it to an airtight container. It keeps for 2 weeks.

  4. 4

Put the hibiscus syrup in a serving glass with ice.

  5. 5

Add the apple juice, lemon juice, and sparkling water to the glass.

  6. 6

Garnish with diced apple, stir, and enjoy.

Notes

The source lists lemon juice twice at 1 oz (30 ml) per line, so the combined amount is 2 oz (60 ml). Sparkling water is given as 8–10 oz (240–300 ml); 8 oz is used as the scalable base quantity and the full range is retained here. The syrup yield is stated as 8 oz. The source does not quantify the ice or garnish apple.
