Ingredients
- 1 French baguette (cut in half lengthwise)
- 0.5 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 4 clove garlic (minced)
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley (finely chopped)
- 1.5 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tbsp Parmesan cheese (grated)
Steps
- 1
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
- 2
In a small mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, and chopped fresh parsley. Mix thoroughly until the garlic and herbs are evenly distributed throughout the butter.
- 3
Slice the baguette in half lengthwise and place both halves cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet.
- 4
Spread the garlic butter mixture generously and evenly over the cut surfaces of both bread halves.
- 5
Place the bread in the oven and bake for about 8 minutes, or until the butter is melted and the edges of the bread are starting to turn golden.
- 6
Remove the baking sheet from the oven and sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top of the garlic butter.
- 7
Return the bread to the oven and bake for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted, bubbly, and slightly browned. For extra color, you can broil for the last 1 minute, watching closely to prevent burning.
- 8
Remove from the oven, let it rest for a minute, then slice into individual pieces and serve warm.
Notes
For a more intense garlic flavor, you can use roasted garlic instead of fresh minced garlic. If you prefer a softer bread, wrap the loaf loosely in foil before the first bake.
