Ingredients

  • 1 Salmon fillet (Individual wrapped, pat dry before seasoning)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 0.5 tsp Garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp Paprika
  • 0.25 tsp Ginger powder
  • 0.5 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 tbsp Sriracha
  • 1 tbsp Light mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Raw honey
  • 2 cup Cabbage (shredded)
  • 1 tbsp Bachan's Japanese Barbecue Sauce
  • 0.5 tsp Buldak sauce (just a tiny bit)
  • 1 tsp Rice vinegar
  • 0.5 tsp Sesame oil (a few drops)
  • Lemon juice (for zest/finishing)
  • 1 tsp Balsamic vinaigrette (for finishing)
  • 1 Green onions (sliced for garnish)
  • 1 tsp Sesame seeds (freshly ground if possible)

Steps

  1. 1

Prep your salmon by patting it dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

Season the salmon with salt, garlic powder, paprika, ginger powder, and onion powder.

  3. 3

In a small bowl, mix together the sriracha, light mayo, and raw honey to create the glaze.

  4. 4

Brush the sauce onto the salmon.

  5. 5

Place the salmon in the air fryer and cook at 365°F (185°C) for 6-7 minutes.

  6. 6

Flip the salmon and air fry the other side for another 6-7 minutes.

  7. 7

While the salmon cooks, heat a pan over medium heat for the cabbage.

  8. 8

Add the shredded cabbage to the pan along with Japanese Bachan sauce, a small amount of Buldak sauce, rice vinegar, and a few drops of sesame oil.

  9. 9

Stir-fry the cabbage just long enough that it is cooked through but still retains a crunchy texture.

  10. 10

Once the salmon is finished, plate it alongside the cabbage.

  11. 11

Finish the dish by adding a squeeze of lemon juice, a drizzle of balsamic vinaigrette, sliced green onions, and freshly ground sesame seeds.

Notes

The author recommends using a sesame seed grinder to get a more toasty aroma. The salmon used was Costco frozen individually wrapped fillets.
