Weights are estimates. Together, the ingredients weigh about 2.33 kg before cooking, which is about 390 g per serving.
Steps
Pat the beef short ribs dry with paper towels.
Season the ribs with the salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and onion powder.
For optional searing, heat the olive oil in a skillet. Sear the ribs on all sides until browned.
In a bowl, mix the BBQ sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, minced garlic, and apple cider vinegar until combined.
Place the ribs in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over them, coating them well.
Cover and cook on LOW for 7–8 hours or HIGH for 4–5 hours, until the meat is fork-tender.
For a thicker, sticky glaze, transfer the sauce to a saucepan and simmer until reduced. Brush the reduced sauce over the ribs.
Serve hot with mashed potatoes, coleslaw, or roasted vegetables.
Notes
Olive oil and searing are optional. The source does not specify how long to simmer the sauce for the optional glaze; reduce it to the desired thickness.
