Weights are estimates. Together, the ingredients weigh about 705 g before cooking, which is about 350 g per serving.

Steps

  1. Pat the chicken tenders dry. Combine the paprika, chilli powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and Szechuan pepper powder, then season the chicken thoroughly. Season the cornflakes with some of the same spice mixture as well.

  2. Beat the egg in a shallow bowl. Dip each seasoned chicken tender into the egg, turning to coat completely.

  3. Transfer each egg-coated tender to the seasoned cornflakes. Press and turn the chicken so the crumbs adhere on all sides and form an even coating.

  4. Preheat an air fryer to 200°C (400 °F). Arrange the coated tenders in a single layer, leaving space around them for air circulation.

  5. Air-fry the tenders at 200°C (400 °F) for about 14 minutes, turning them halfway through, until the coating is crisp and the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 74°C (165 °F).

  6. While the tenders cook, combine the honey, soy sauce, hot sauce, sriracha, and garlic paste in a bowl. Stir until evenly mixed.

  7. Heat the cooking oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Shallow-fry the air-fried tenders on each side until the coating is especially crisp and golden, taking care not to overcrowd the pan.

  8. Transfer the crispy tenders to the bowl of hot honey sauce and toss until evenly coated. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

The source lists both air-frying and shallow-frying: air-fry for approximately 14 minutes, then shallow-fry each side to crisp the coating. The source does not specify quantities for the chicken, egg, cornflakes, or seasonings, so those amounts are practical estimates. Confirm the chicken reaches 74°C/165°F before serving.
