Ingredients

  • 3.5 lb Beef (Chuck Roast) (between 3 and 4 pounds)
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil (for searing)
  • 0.5 cup Soy sauce (for the glaze)
  • 0.25 cup Balsamic vinegar (for the glaze)
  • 3 tbsp Brown sugar (for the glaze)
  • 4 Garlic (finely minced)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (for the glaze)
  • 1 tsp Black pepper (for the glaze)

Steps

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).

  2. 2

In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper to prepare the glaze.

  3. 3

Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe pot or a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the beef on all sides until well browned.

  4. 4

Pour the glaze mixture over the seared meat. Cover the pot tightly with a lid or aluminum foil.

  5. 5

Transfer to the oven and roast for 3.5 to 4 hours, or until the meat is tender and falls apart easily with a fork.

  6. 6

For the final touch, remove the lid and place the meat under the broiler for a few minutes until the glaze bubbles and forms a dark, caramelized crust.

  7. 7

Let the meat rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing or shredding to allow the juices to redistribute.

Notes

Cooking time may vary depending on the exact size of the meat. Ensure the pot is tightly sealed to maintain moisture.
