Ingredients
- 250 g Pasta (e.g., linguine or spaghetti)
- 2 tbsp Butter (unsalted)
- 3 Garlic (cloves, finely minced)
- 250 ml Heavy cream (or cooking cream)
- 100 g Parmesan (freshly grated)
- Salt (to taste)
- Black pepper (freshly ground, to taste)
- 1 tbsp Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Steps
- 1
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- 2
Add the pasta to the boiling water and cook until al dente according to the package instructions.
- 3
While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- 4
Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
- 5
Pour the heavy cream into the skillet while stirring and bring to a gentle simmer.
- 6
Gradually stir in the grated Parmesan until the sauce is smooth and slightly thickened.
- 7
Season with salt and plenty of black pepper to taste.
- 8
Drain the pasta, reserving a small cup of the pasta water.
- 9
Add the pasta directly to the skillet with the sauce and toss well to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add a little of the reserved pasta water.
- 10
Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
For an even more intense flavor, you can add a squeeze of lemon juice at the end. Be sure to stir in the Parmesan over low heat to prevent the sauce from curdling.
