Weights are estimates. Together, the ingredients weigh about 1.89 kg before cooking, which is about 315 g per serving.
Steps
Add the chicken breast, diced sweet onion, shredded carrots, chicken rub, garlic powder, onion powder, chicken bouillon powder, paprika, black pepper, and chicken broth to the slow cooker.
Cover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or HIGH for 2–3 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
Remove the chicken from the slow cooker. Shred or chop it, then return it to the cooker.
Stir in the orzo, broccoli, heavy cream, and freshly shredded cheddar until well combined and the cheese begins to melt.
Cover and cook on HIGH for about 30 minutes, stirring once or twice, until the orzo is tender. Watch it toward the end because the orzo absorbs liquid quickly.
Let the dish sit briefly so the remaining liquid can be absorbed. Taste, then add salt to taste only if needed; the chicken rub and bouillon already contain salt.
Serve with additional shredded cheddar on top, as indicated in the ingredient list.
Notes
The transcript suggests bone broth, chicken stock, or chicken broth; the written ingredient list specifies chicken broth. The transcript says to season with salt and pepper to taste, while the written directions only call for salt at the end and already include black pepper. No separate additional pepper amount is listed. The source does not give an exact resting time.
