- 40 g brown sugar
- 20 g sugar (white)
- 0.6 egg (whisked)
- 0.2 EL vanilla extract
- 72 g all-purpose flour, Type 550
- 0.4 TL baking powder
- 0.2 TL baking soda
- 20 g chocolate chips
- 50 g maple walnut ice cream (or walnut ice cream)
Steps
- 1
Preheat the oven to 180 °C top and bottom heat (or 160 °C fan oven).
- 2
Melt the butter in an ovenproof skillet over low heat.
- 3
Add the brown and white sugar to the melted butter.
- 4
Remove the skillet from the heat and stir the mixture until the sugar has mostly dissolved. Then let the mixture cool slightly.
- 5
Stir the egg and vanilla extract into the sugar mixture.
- 6
Mix the flour, baking powder, and baking soda together and fold into the dough until just combined.
- 7
Mix the chocolate chips into the dough.
- 8
Smooth the dough in the skillet and bake in the preheated oven for approx. 15-20 minutes until the edges are golden brown but the center is still slightly soft.
- 9
Garnish the warm cookie with a scoop of maple walnut ice cream and serve immediately.
Notes
For best results, the cookie should be baked in a cast-iron skillet. The ice cream melts on the warm cookie and forms a delicious sauce.
