Ingredients

  • 2 lemons (Peeled; seeds removed and flesh chopped into pieces about 1/2 inch)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (Good quality)
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 tsp salt (The author notes she probably used more)
  • black pepper (A couple cracks)
  • 0.25 cup water
  • 1 romaine lettuce (Large head, chopped; for serving the dressing as a salad)

Steps

  1. 1

Remove the peel from the lemons with a paring knife. Remove the seeds, then chop the lemons into pieces about 1/2 inch in size.

  2. 2

Put the chopped lemon, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, black pepper, and water in a bowl.

  3. 3

Whisk thoroughly until combined. Keep whisking so the lemon pieces break down somewhat and release more juice.

  4. 4

To serve Nonna-style, chop a large head of romaine lettuce and put it in a bowl. Pour the dressing over the lettuce and mix everything together by hand.

Notes

The post does not specify an exact yield. Serving estimate assumes the dressing is tossed with one large head of romaine.
