Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (cooked and drained)
- 0.5 green bell pepper (diced)
- 0.5 onion (diced)
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp beef bouillon
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 0.5 tsp Creole seasoning
- 1.5 cup beef broth
- 6 oz tomato paste
- 15 oz tomato sauce (Prego brand suggested)
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 5.2 oz Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs cheese (one standard wheel)
- 24 oz frozen beef ravioli
- 2 cup Colby Jack cheese (shredded)
- fresh parsley (for garnish)
Steps
- 1
In a large skillet or pot, cook and brown the ground beef along with the diced green peppers and onions. Once the meat is browned, drain the excess fat.
- 2
Add the minced garlic to the meat and vegetable mixture and cook until the veggies are soft and the garlic is fragrant.
- 3
Season the meat mixture with beef bouillon, onion powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and Creole seasoning.
- 4
Pour in 1.5 cups of beef broth and add the tomato paste. Stir and bring to a boil until the tomato paste is fully incorporated.
- 5
Stir in the tomato sauce (Prego) and a tablespoon of sugar to balance the acidity. Add a little more of the seasoning blend used for the meat to the sauce if desired.
- 6
Add the Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs cheese to the sauce, stirring until melted and creamy.
- 7
Add the frozen ravioli directly into the sauce. Simmer together for 4 to 6 minutes.
- 8
Stir in a portion of the shredded Colby Jack cheese, but do not let it fully melt into the sauce before transferring.
- 9
Transfer the ravioli and sauce mixture to a baking dish. Top with the remaining Colby Jack cheese and dried or fresh parsley.
- 10
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Cover the dish and bake for 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and the sauce has thickened.
Notes
The Boursin cheese is the 'key ingredient' for the creaminess of the sauce. Baking the dish at the end ensures the sauce thickens properly.
