Ingredients
- 50 g Thai tea leaves (Chef uses Velo brand from Thailand)
- Hot water (Sufficient to steep the tea leaves)
- 150 g White sugar
- Non-dairy creamer (Coffee Mate or similar; quantity to taste)
- 100 g Condensed milk (Approximately 3 tablespoons)
- Ice (For serving)
- Evaporated milk (For topping/drizzling)
Steps
- 1
Measure out 50 grams of Thai tea leaves.
- 2
Steep the tea leaves in hot water for exactly 6 minutes. Do not exceed this time or the tea will become bitter.
- 3
Strain the tea leaves from the liquid into a pitcher or mixing bowl.
- 4
Add 150 grams of white sugar to the hot tea and stir until completely dissolved.
- 5
Add the non-dairy creamer (Coffee Mate) to your preference and mix together.
- 6
Add 100 grams (about 3 tablespoons) of condensed milk to the mixture and stir well until combined.
- 7
Fill a tall glass with ice and pour the tea mixture over the ice.
- 8
Top with a drizzle of evaporated milk for a creamy finish.
Notes
Chef Mo notes that for a vegan or healthier version, you can substitute the creamer and milk with a high-quality coconut milk. The sweetness and creaminess can be adjusted to personal preference by adding more or less condensed milk and sugar.
