Ingredients
- 4 Eggs (separated into whites and yolks)
- Salt (to taste)
- Black pepper (to taste)
Steps
- 1
Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2
Separate the eggs, placing the whites in a large bowl and reserving the yolks in another container.
- 3
Add salt and pepper to the egg whites.
- 4
Beat the egg whites until they form stiff peaks and have a 'firm cloud' consistency.
- 5
Lightly whisk the reserved egg yolks.
- 6
On the baking sheet, create four circular shapes using part of the beaten yolks to form the base of the buns.
- 7
Carefully place the whipped egg white mixture on top of the yolk bases, shaping them like burger buns.
- 8
Brush the remaining egg yolks over the top of the whites for color.
- 9
Bake at 175°C for 15 minutes until golden brown and firm.
- 10
Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and assemble with your favorite burger ingredients.
Notes
This recipe makes 4 bun halves (2 complete burgers). They are naturally gluten-free and carb-free. Ensure the bowl for the whites is completely clean and grease-free so they whip up correctly.
