Ingredients
- 2 chicken breasts (boneless and skinless, sliced into thin cutlets)
- 1 tbsp oil (olive oil, canola, or vegetable oil)
- 0.5 cup dried bread crumbs
- 0.5 tsp paprika
- 0.25 tsp dried chili powder
- 0.25 tsp ground black pepper
- 0.25 tsp garlic powder
- 0.25 tsp onion powder
- 0.25 tsp cayenne pepper
- 0.5 tsp salt
Steps
- 1
Put the chicken breasts in a bowl and drizzle with oil. Make sure that they're well coated.
- 2
In a shallow dish, mix the dried bread crumbs with the paprika, chili powder, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and salt until well combined.
- 3
Coat each chicken breast in the bread crumb mixture, pressing firmly so the breading sticks, and transfer to your air fryer basket.
- 4
Air fry in the air fryer at 390°F (200°C) for a total of 10-12 minutes.
- 5
After the first 7 minutes, open the air fryer and flip the chicken to the other side using kitchen tongs.
- 6
Continue cooking for the remaining 3-5 minutes depending on the size of the chicken breast used.
- 7
When the cooking time is up, remove the chicken from the air fryer immediately so that it does not dry out.
- 8
Allow the chicken to rest for 5 minutes before serving to ensure it stays juicy.
Notes
To brine the chicken for extra juiciness: Dissolve 2 tablespoons of salt in 2 cups of lukewarm water. Let the chicken sit in the saltwater for 15 minutes (up to 6 hours in the fridge), then rinse with fresh water and pat dry before starting the recipe. Always check the internal temperature of the chicken to ensure it reaches 165°F (74°C).
