Ingredients

  • 1 Hotteok dough (low sugar variety)
  • 0.5 cup Fresh blueberries
  • 0.5 cup Cheese (shredded)
  • 1 tbsp Cooking oil (for frying)

Steps

  1. 1

Prepare the hotteok dough and allow it to rest for 30 minutes at room temperature to rise.

  2. 2

Divide the dough into portions and flatten each piece.

  3. 3

Place a portion of blueberries and cheese in the center of the dough.

  4. 4

Fold the dough over the filling and seal it tightly to ensure it doesn't explode during cooking.

  5. 5

Heat a small amount of oil in a pan over medium heat.

  6. 6

Place the filled dough in the pan and let it cook undisturbed until the bottom crust is brown.

  7. 7

Flip the hotteok over and then press it down firmly with a spatula to flatten it into a pancake shape.

  8. 8

Continue cooking until both sides are golden brown and the filling is heated through.

Notes

The creator describes the flavor as 'a little sour but delicious' due to the fresh blueberries. Ensure the dough is sealed well to prevent the cheese and berry juice from leaking.
