Ingredients

  • 1.5 potatoes (Use 1–2 potatoes, cut into very thin slices; estimated total of 200 g.)
  • 40 g grated cheese (You can use light cheese, Parmesan, or your preferred cheese.)
  • 30 g cream cheese (For spreading; a light version can be used.)
  • 5 g horseradish (Meerrettich) (Optional.)
  • 20 g lettuce leaves (Wash and dry.)
  • 60 g smoked salmon (Cut or separate into strips if necessary.)
  • salt (To taste.)
  • black pepper (To taste.)
  • parchment paper (To line the baking tray; not consumed.)

Steps

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 200 °C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

  2. 2

Wash the potatoes and cut them into very thin, even slices, preferably using a mandoline or a very sharp knife.

  3. 3

Place the potato slices on the tray, slightly overlapping and close together, forming a continuous, approximately rectangular surface.

  4. 4

Distribute the grated cheese over the entire potato surface. Season lightly with salt and pepper, keeping in mind that the cheese and smoked salmon may already be salty.

  5. 5

Bake for approximately 25 minutes, until the potatoes are cooked and the surface has a golden, crispy cheese crust.

  6. 6

Remove the tray from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes, until it has cooled slightly and is easier to handle without breaking.

  7. 7

Mix the cream cheese with the horseradish, if using. Spread this mixture over the potato and cheese base, creating an even layer.

  8. 8

Place the lettuce leaves over the cream cheese and distribute the smoked salmon on top.

  9. 9

Carefully roll up the preparation like a wrap, using the parchment paper to help if necessary. Serve immediately to preserve the crispy texture.

Notes

The original recipe indicates approximate quantities for one serving: 1–2 potatoes and cheese, cream cheese, lettuce, and salmon to taste. The numerical quantities of ingredients without an explicit measurement are practical estimates. The wrap is best enjoyed freshly made; if the base cools too much, it may become more fragile when rolled.
