Weights are estimates. Together, the ingredients weigh about 1.65 kg before cooking, which is about 275 g per serving.

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200 °C) (205°C (400 °F)). Line a baking pan with foil if desired to make cleanup easier.

  2. Arrange the bacon in a pan and bake at 400°F (200 °C) for about 15 minutes, until cooked. Watch for the bacon sitting in rendered grease as it cooks.

  3. Drain the bacon grease from the pan, reserving it for the assembled sliders. Chop the cooked bacon and place it in a bowl.

  4. Grate the block cheese. Keep it available for the chicken mixture, the inside of the sliders, and the topping.

  5. Place the cooked chicken in a bowl and shred it thoroughly.

  6. Add the chopped bacon and some of the grated cheese to the shredded chicken.

  7. Add ranch dressing to the chicken mixture until it reaches the desired consistency, then mix everything together.

  8. Dice the onion, then caramelize it in a pan. Add the caramelized onion to the chicken mixture and mix again.

  9. Carefully cut the connected Hawaiian rolls horizontally through the middle, keeping the individual rolls together if possible.

  10. Place some grated cheese on both cut sides of the rolls.

  11. Spread all of the chicken, bacon, ranch, cheese, and onion mixture over the bottom half of the rolls, packing it in evenly.

  12. Add the remaining grated cheese over the filling, then place the top half of the rolls over the cheese.

  13. Spoon or brush the reserved bacon grease over the tops of the assembled sliders. Transfer the sliders to a baking pan and add extra cheese on top if desired.

  14. Cover the pan with foil and bake at 400°F (200 °C) (205°C (400 °F)) for about 10 minutes, until the sliders are hot and the cheese is melted. Serve warm.

Notes

The source gives no exact quantities for most ingredients, no specified chicken cooking method, and no exact roll-package size. Amounts other than the stated one chicken and approximately 15- and 10-minute oven times are practical estimates. The creator specifically emphasizes using block cheese as a budget-saving choice.
