Ingredients
- 100 g Firm tofu (mashed or finely crumbled)
- 2 Shiitake mushrooms (finely minced)
- 1 Green onion (finely sliced)
- 0.5 tsp Ginger (grated)
- 1 tsp Soy sauce (for the filling)
- 0.5 tsp Sesame oil
- 6 Wonton wrappers (vegan-friendly)
- 0.25 cup Vegetable broth (rich umami style)
- Chili oil (for serving)
Steps
- 1
In a small bowl, combine the mashed firm tofu, minced shiitake mushrooms, sliced green onion, grated ginger, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Mix thoroughly to create a uniform filling.
- 2
Prepare a small ramekin. Place one wonton wrapper at the bottom of the ramekin.
- 3
Spread a thin, even layer of the tofu and mushroom filling over the wrapper.
- 4
Repeat the layering process with the remaining wonton wrappers and filling, finishing with a wonton wrapper on top.
- 5
Pour the vegetable broth over the layered 'lasagna' in the ramekin.
- 6
Place the ramekin into a steamer basket over boiling water. Cover and steam for 15 minutes until the wrappers are tender and the filling is heated through.
- 7
Carefully remove the ramekin from the steamer. Serve immediately, topped with extra green onions or chili oil if desired.
