Ingredients

  • 2 Large flour tortillas (Approximately 25 cm in diameter.)
  • 300 g Ground beef (Preferably 15–20% fat.)
  • 1 White onion (Cut into medium slices; not too thick or too thin.)
  • Salt (To taste.)
  • Black pepper (To taste.)
  • 4 rebanadas American cheese (The video indicates that American cheese should be used for the burgers.)
  • 3 tbsp Mayonnaise (For the sauce.)
  • 2 tbsp Ketchup (For the sauce; use your preferred brand.)
  • 1 tbsp Yellow mustard (For the sauce.)
  • 1 tbsp Sriracha (Adjust to taste to control the heat.)
  • 2 tbsp Pickled jalapeños (Finely chopped.)
  • 1 tbsp Pickled jalapeño juice (The video emphasizes that it takes the burger sauce to the next level.)
  • 1 tsp Vegetable oil (For cooking the onion and browning the wraps, as needed.)

Steps

  1. 1

Cut the white onion into medium, even slices. They should be thin enough to soften but not so thin that they burn quickly.

  2. 2

In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, sriracha, chopped pickled jalapeños, and jalapeño juice. Taste and adjust the amount of sriracha; set the sauce aside.

  3. 3

Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and shape them into thin patties, slightly larger than the tortillas, since they will shrink during cooking. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

  4. 4

Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Add the onion with a little oil and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened and golden around the edges.

  5. 5

Transfer the onion to a plate. In the same skillet, cook the beef patties in batches if necessary, for approximately 2–3 minutes on the first side and 1–2 minutes on the second side, until well browned and they reach 71 °C in the center.

  6. 6

Place one slice of American cheese on each beef patty during the last minute of cooking. Cover the skillet briefly if necessary to melt the cheese completely.

  7. 7

Place a flour tortilla on a work surface. In the center, place two beef patties with cheese and a portion of the golden onion. Add sauce to taste without overfilling.

  8. 8

Fold the sides of the tortilla toward the center, then roll it up tightly like a burrito, keeping the filling securely contained.

  9. 9

Heat a clean skillet over medium heat and place each wrap seam-side down. Toast for 2–3 minutes per side, gently pressing with a spatula, until the tortilla is golden and crispy while the cheese inside remains melted.

  10. 10

Let the wraps rest for 1–2 minutes, cut them in half, and serve hot with the remaining sauce.

Notes

The quantities do not appear in the description or audio; they were estimated for two wraps. The creator recommends not cutting the onion too thick or too thin and highlights the use of pickled jalapeño juice in the sauce. Serve immediately to preserve the crispy texture.
