Ingredients

  • 0.333 cup lemon juice
  • 0.25 cup vegetable oil
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper (freshly ground)
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tsp fresh dill (roughly chopped)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 garlic (minced)

Steps

  1. 1

Gather all ingredients and mince the garlic and chop the fresh dill.

  2. 2

In a medium bowl, add the 1/3 cup of lemon juice.

  3. 3

Slowly whisk in the 1/4 cup of vegetable oil until the mixture is well combined and emulsified.

  4. 4

Add the black pepper, water, chopped dill, salt, and minced garlic to the bowl.

  5. 5

Continue to whisk the mixture for a few seconds to ensure all seasonings are evenly distributed.

  6. 6

Let the marinade stand for 10 minutes at room temperature before using it to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

Marinating Times: Marinate chicken breasts or thighs for 2 hours. For turkey breasts or whole chickens, marinate for 4 to 6 hours. Storage: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Variations: You can swap dill for rosemary, parsley, or thyme. Olive oil can be used instead of vegetable oil for a richer flavor. For a citrus twist, try orange juice with parsley or lime juice with cilantro.
