Ingredients

  • 12 oz frozen whipped topping (thawed; or equal amount sweetened whipped cream)
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk (1 can)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened; 1 package)
  • 2 cup milk
  • 5 oz instant French vanilla pudding mix (1 box)
  • 7 bananas (sliced; 6 to 8 bananas)
  • 2 bag chessmen cookies (such as Pepperidge Farm)

Steps

  1. 1

Line the bottom of a 13x9x2-inch baking dish with 1 bag of the chessmen cookies.

  2. 2

Layer the sliced bananas evenly over the top of the cookies.

  3. 3

In a medium bowl, combine the 2 cups of milk and the instant French vanilla pudding mix. Blend well using a handheld electric mixer until thickened.

  4. 4

In a separate large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and the sweetened condensed milk. Mix until the mixture is completely smooth.

  5. 5

Gently fold the thawed whipped topping into the cream cheese and condensed milk mixture.

  6. 6

Add the cream cheese mixture to the prepared pudding mixture and stir together until the two are well blended.

  7. 7

Pour the final pudding mixture over the layers of cookies and bananas in the dish, spreading it to the edges.

  8. 8

Cover the top of the pudding with the remaining bag of cookies.

  9. 9

Refrigerate the pudding until ready to serve; at least 2 hours is recommended to allow the cookies to soften slightly.

Notes

For the best results, ensure the cream cheese is fully softened to room temperature to avoid lumps in your pudding mixture. You can substitute the frozen whipped topping with an equal amount of homemade sweetened whipped cream if preferred.
