Ingredients

  • 50 g Garlic cloves (Peeled)
  • 0.5 cup Olive oil (Use 1 tbsp of the garlic oil in the spread; the remainder is used to confit the garlic.)
  • 50 g Butter
  • 2 tbsp Parmesan (Grated)
  • 0.5 tsp Chili flakes (Optional)
  • 2 tsp Parsley
  • Mozzarella cheese (Amount unspecified; for topping)
  • Bread (Amount unspecified; for slicing and topping)

Steps

  1. 1

Simmer the peeled garlic cloves in the olive oil over low heat for 25–30 minutes, until soft and tender.

  2. 2

Mash the confit garlic with the butter, Parmesan, parsley, optional chili flakes, and 1 tablespoon of the garlic oil into a smooth paste.

  3. 3

Slice the bread. Spread the garlic butter generously over the slices, then top with mozzarella.

  4. 4

Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 10–12 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  5. 5

Broil for 1–2 minutes to create a golden crust.

  6. 6

    Slice and serve hot.

Notes

The source does not specify the amount of bread or mozzarella. It calls the topping cheese “Mozarella” and gives no quantity. The 1 tbsp garlic oil used in the spread is taken from the listed olive oil, not an additional amount.
