Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter (unsalted)
  • 4 garlic (cloves, minced)
  • 2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz fettuccine pasta (uncooked)
  • 0.5 cup parmesan cheese (freshly grated)
  • salt (to taste)
  • black pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Steps

  1. 1

In a large skillet or pot, melt the 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.

  2. 2

Add the 4 minced garlic cloves to the melted butter and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

  3. 3

Pour in the 2 cups of chicken broth and 1 cup of heavy cream. Stir to combine.

  4. 4

Add the 8 oz of uncooked fettuccine pasta to the liquid. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil.

  5. 5

Reduce the heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally to prevent the pasta from sticking, for about 10-12 minutes or until the pasta is al dente and the sauce has thickened.

  6. 6

Stir in the 0.5 cup of freshly grated parmesan cheese until fully melted and the sauce is smooth.

  7. 7

Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  8. 8

Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

If the sauce becomes too thick while simmering, you can add a splash more chicken broth or water to reach your desired consistency. For a vegetarian version, substitute the chicken broth with vegetable broth.
