Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb fresh salmon filets (skin removed, chopped)
  • 1 egg (large, beaten)
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill (chopped)
  • 1 oz McCormick Burger Business by Tabitha Brown Seasoning Mix (1 packet)
  • 1 tbsp grapeseed oil (plus more as needed)

Steps

  1. 1

    Gather all ingredients.

  2. 2

Chop the salmon filets into small pieces or place them in a food processor and pulse a few times until coarsely chopped.

  3. 3

In a bowl, combine the chopped salmon, beaten egg, all-purpose flour, chopped dill, and the burger seasoning packet. Mix gently until well combined.

  4. 4

Scoop about 1 cup of the salmon mixture at a time and form into 4 to 5 large balls.

  5. 5

Heat 1 tablespoon of grapeseed oil in a large cast iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.

  6. 6

Place the salmon balls in the skillet, leaving plenty of space between them to smash. Using a burger press or a sturdy spatula, press each ball down firmly into a thin, even layer.

  7. 7

Cook the patties for 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. You may need to work in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.

  8. 8

Serve the salmon patties on burger buns with your favorite toppings.

Notes

For the best texture, ensure the salmon is cold when chopping. If the mixture feels too wet to hold a ball shape, you can chill it for 15-30 minutes before cooking.
