Ingredients
- 60 g Coconut oil (Melt gently until just liquid; do not overheat.)
- 50 g Unsweetened cocoa powder
- 30 g Honey
- 4 g Vanilla extract
- 0.5 g Salt (A pinch.)
Steps
- 1
Place the coconut oil in a heatproof bowl or small saucepan. Gently warm it just until it becomes liquid; do not let it get hot or overheated.
- 2
Add the cocoa powder to the melted coconut oil.
- 3
Add the honey, vanilla extract, and salt.
- 4
Mix thoroughly until the mixture is completely smooth, evenly combined, and glossy, with no visible cocoa lumps.
- 5
Transfer the chocolate mixture to a piping bag. Twist or fold the top closed so the mixture does not escape while piping.
- 6
Line a baking sheet, tray, or baking mat with parchment paper. Pipe small droplets of the mixture onto the surface, leaving a little space between them.
- 7
Place the tray in the freezer until the chocolate chips are fully set and firm, about 30 minutes or as needed.
- 8
Once firm, transfer the chocolate chips to an airtight container and keep them stored in the freezer.
Notes
Use the frozen chips in cookies, lava cakes, cakes, brownies, muffins, or other desserts calling for chocolate chips. Because these chips are made primarily with coconut oil, keep them refrigerated or frozen; they soften and melt readily at room temperature and in baked goods.
