Ingredients
- 1 Savoury roll dough (Prepared yeast dough for rolls)
- 0.5 cup Butter (Softened)
- 4 clove Garlic (Minced)
- 2 tbsp Fresh parsley (Finely chopped)
- 1.5 cup Mozzarella cheese (Shredded)
- 0.25 cup Parmesan cheese (Grated)
Steps
- 1
Prepare your savory roll dough and allow it to complete its first rise until doubled in size.
- 2
In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley until smooth.
- 3
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a large rectangle, approximately 1/4 inch thick.
- 4
Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the surface of the dough, leaving a small border at the edges.
- 5
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan evenly over the butter layer.
- 6
Starting from the long edge, roll the dough tightly into a log.
- 7
Cut the log into 12 even pieces using a sharp knife or unflavored dental floss.
- 8
Place the rolls into a greased baking pan, cover, and let rise for another 30-45 minutes until puffy.
- 9
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 10
Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- 11
Remove from the oven and optionally brush with a little extra garlic butter while warm.
Notes
The creator mentions a savory roll dough recipe is forthcoming in an ebook; a standard brioche or dinner roll dough works well as a substitute. Ensure the butter is very soft but not melted for the best spreadability.
