Ingredients
- 1 botella Dry red wine (A good-quality dry red wine is recommended.)
- 1 cup Sugar
- 0.5 tbsp Unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice (Preferably freshly squeezed.)
Steps
- 1
Pour the dry red wine into a saucepan. Use a saucepan that is wide enough to allow the liquid to reduce without overflowing.
- 2
Bring the wine to a boil over medium heat. Let it boil for 25 minutes to concentrate its flavor and aroma.
- 3
Add the sugar, unsalted butter, and lemon juice to the saucepan.
- 4
Stir continuously for approximately 10 minutes, until the mixture is well combined and becomes thicker, with a consistency similar to jam.
- 5
Pour the hot jam into a clean, heat-resistant container.
- 6
Let it cool to room temperature. The jam will continue to thicken as it cools.
- 7
Serve the wine jam with your preferred accompaniment, such as cheeses, bread, desserts, or meats.
Notes
The video recipe indicates that it can be served with cheeses, breads, desserts, and meats. Use a good-quality dry red wine for a more intense flavor and aroma. Store the jam refrigerated in an airtight container and consume it within a few days; let it return to room temperature before serving if it becomes too thick.
