Ingredients

  • 1 Salmon Fillet (approx 6 oz, cooked and flaked, bones removed)
  • 1 cup Broccoli (steamed and finely chopped)
  • 1 Potato (medium size, boiled and mashed)
  • 0.5 cup All Purpose Flour
  • 2 Eggs
  • 0.25 cup White Cheddar (shredded)
  • 0.25 cup Mozzarella (shredded)
  • 0.5 tsp Onion Powder
  • 0.5 tsp Garlic Powder

Steps

  1. 1

Prepare the base ingredients: Peel and cube the potato, then boil in water until soft (about 10-12 minutes). Steam the broccoli florets until tender. Cook the salmon fillet (steaming or baking is best for BLW) until it flakes easily with a fork.

  2. 2

In a large mixing bowl, mash the cooked potato until smooth. Finely chop the steamed broccoli and flake the cooked salmon, ensuring you carefully check for and remove any small bones.

  3. 3

Add the chopped broccoli and flaked salmon to the bowl with the mashed potato. Add the 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour and the 2 eggs.

  4. 4

Stir in the shredded white cheddar and mozzarella cheeses. Add the onion powder and garlic powder for flavor. Do not add salt or pepper if preparing specifically for infants.

  5. 5

Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until a thick, uniform batter forms that can be shaped.

  6. 6

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

  7. 7

Scoop about 2 tablespoons of the mixture at a time and shape into small, flat patties. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each.

  8. 8

Bake for approximately 20 minutes, or until the patties are firm and the edges are just beginning to turn golden.

  9. 9

Remove from the oven and let the patties cool completely before serving to ensure they are at a safe temperature for the baby.

Notes

These patties are great for meal prep and can be frozen for up to 1 month. To reheat, simply pop them in the oven or air fryer until warmed through. Ensure the salmon is thoroughly cooked and flaked very fine to avoid choking hazards.
