Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh strawberries (washed and dried)
- 0.5 cup dark chocolate chips (preferably high cocoa content or sugar-free)
- 1 tsp coconut oil (optional, to help the chocolate melt smoothly)
Steps
- 1
Wash the strawberries with cold water and dry them completely with a paper towel. It is crucial that they are dry so the chocolate adheres properly.
- 2
Place the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl.
- 3
Heat the chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until completely smooth and melted. Be careful not to burn it.
- 4
Hold each strawberry by the stem or leaves and dip it into the melted chocolate until it is covered halfway or three-quarters of the way.
- 5
Place the covered strawberries on a tray lined with parchment paper or baking paper.
- 6
Refrigerate the strawberries for at least 15-30 minutes until the chocolate has completely hardened before serving.
Notes
For an extra touch, you can sprinkle a pinch of sea salt or chopped nuts over the chocolate before it hardens. Ensure the strawberries are at room temperature before dipping to prevent the chocolate from cracking.
