Ingredients
- 1 head Green Cabbage (chopped into bite-sized pieces)
- 1 lb Ground Beef or Sausage (browned and drained)
- 1 Onion (diced)
- 1 Bell Pepper (diced)
- 1 tbsp Cajun Seasoning (Just Us Cajun Seasoning recommended)
- 1 tsp Salt-Free Vegetable Seasoning (Just Us Salt-Free Vegetable Seasoning recommended)
- 1 tsp Salt-Free Garlic & Herb Seasoning (Just Us Salt-Free Garlic & Herb Seasoning recommended)
- 0.5 tsp Seasoned Pepper (Just Us Seasoned Pepper recommended)
- 1 tsp Meat Seasoning (Just Us Meat Seasoning recommended)
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil (for sautéing)
Steps
- 1
Prepare the vegetables by chopping the green cabbage into bite-sized pieces and dicing the onion and bell pepper.
- 2
In a large skillet or pot over medium-high heat, add the ground beef or sausage. Cook until browned and fully cooked through. Drain any excess grease and set the meat aside.
- 3
In the same skillet, add olive oil if needed. Add the diced onions and bell peppers and sauté until they begin to soften and become fragrant, about 3-5 minutes.
- 4
Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet. Stir to combine with the aromatics.
- 5
Season the mixture generously with Cajun seasoning, salt-free vegetable seasoning, salt-free garlic & herb seasoning, seasoned pepper, and meat seasoning.
- 6
Add the cooked meat back into the skillet with the cabbage.
- 7
Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover the skillet, and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and has absorbed the flavors.
- 8
Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary before serving hot.
Notes
The author uses their own specialty line of seasonings (Just Us Seasonings). If these are unavailable, you can substitute with a standard Cajun blend, garlic powder, dried herbs, and black pepper.
