Ingredients
- 1 pack Double Stuf Oreo cookies (Crushed; approximately 14.3 oz (405 g) package. Reserve 1/3 cup of the crumb mixture for topping.)
- 1 stick Butter (Melted; 1 stick is approximately 1/2 cup.)
- 2 boxes Instant chocolate pudding mix (Use two standard boxes of instant pudding mix.)
- 3.25 cup Whole milk (3 1/4 cups.)
- 1 block Cream cheese (Softened; approximately 8 oz (226 g).)
- 1 cup Powdered sugar
- 2 containers Cool Whip whipped topping (Use one container in the cream cheese layer and one for the final topping; approximately two 8-oz containers total.)
Steps
- 1
Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs. Melt the butter and combine it with the crushed cookies until all the crumbs are evenly coated and the mixture resembles wet sand.
- 2
Measure out and reserve 1/3 cup of the Oreo-butter mixture for the topping. Set it aside.
- 3
Press the remaining Oreo mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of a 9-by-13-inch baking pan to form the crust. Set the pan aside.
- 4
In a large bowl, whisk the two boxes of instant chocolate pudding mix with 3 1/4 cups of whole milk until smooth and thickened. Refrigerate the pudding while preparing the next layer.
- 5
In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the powdered sugar until smooth and fully combined, with no visible lumps.
- 6
Fold one container of Cool Whip into the cream cheese mixture until evenly incorporated and light. Do not overmix or deflate the whipped topping unnecessarily.
- 7
Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the Oreo crust, reaching into the corners of the pan.
- 8
Spread the chilled chocolate pudding evenly over the cream cheese layer.
- 9
Spread the remaining container of Cool Whip evenly over the pudding layer.
- 10
Sprinkle the reserved Oreo-butter crumb mixture over the top as a garnish.
- 11
Refrigerate the assembled dessert for approximately 2 hours, or until thoroughly chilled and set. Slice and serve cold.
Notes
The source describes approximately 20 minutes of preparation plus 2 hours of chilling. Keep refrigerated. For cleaner slices, chill until fully set and use a sharp knife.
