Ingredients
- 12 Slider buns (1 pack, usually Hawaiian style)
- 12 Chicken tenders or nuggets (Cooked until crispy; enough to cover the buns)
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (Your favorite brand)
- 0.25 cup Honey (To mix with BBQ sauce)
- 8 oz Cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese (Sliced or shredded)
- 4 tbsp Unsalted butter (Melted, for the bun tops)
- 1 tsp Garlic powder (For the butter glaze)
- 1 tsp Dried parsley (For garnish)
Steps
- 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a baking dish by lightly greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
- 2
Cook your chicken tenders or nuggets according to package instructions until they are fully cooked and crispy.
- 3
In a medium bowl, whisk together the BBQ sauce and honey until well combined. Toss the cooked chicken in the sauce until evenly coated.
- 4
Slice the entire pack of slider buns in half horizontally, keeping the individual rolls connected. Place the bottom half of the buns into the prepared baking dish.
- 5
Layer half of the cheese over the bottom buns. Arrange the honey BBQ chicken pieces evenly over the cheese layer.
- 6
Top the chicken with the remaining cheese and place the top half of the slider buns over the assembly.
- 7
In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with garlic powder and dried parsley. Brush this mixture generously over the tops of the buns.
- 8
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bun tops are golden brown.
- 9
Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes before slicing into individual sliders and serving.
Notes
For a 'hot honey' version as suggested by the hashtags, add 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the honey BBQ mixture.
