Ingredients
- 1 can Canned biscuits (16 oz (about 454 g); the source price label identifies the can as 16 oz)
- 1 can Tomato sauce (The source identifies a $1 can but does not state its size)
- 8 oz Mozzarella cheese (Block; grate it yourself if possible. Use as much or as little as desired.)
- Dried oregano (Optional; use a pinch, preferably under the cheese)
- Garlic powder (Optional; use a pinch)
- Grated Parmesan (Optional; sprinkle over the mozzarella)
Steps
- 1
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Set out an 8 × 12-inch baking dish or another baking dish of your choice.
- 2
Pour the tomato sauce into a pot and heat over medium-high. The aim is to evaporate some of its water and concentrate it, not to cook it thoroughly.
- 3
When the sauce starts to bubble, lower the heat to medium-low and let it continue bubbling until some water has evaporated and the sauce has thickened. Do not season it while heating.
- 4
Open the biscuits. Lay one biscuit in the baking dish and press it outward gently, spreading it as far as possible without tearing it.
- 5
Add more biscuits, slightly overlapping the edges. Press the seams together and continue until the bottom of the dish is covered with one even layer of dough.
- 6
Press and level the dough across the bottom, then push the outer edges into as straight a line as possible.
- 7
Bake the dough for 4 minutes, then remove the dish from the oven.
- 8
While the dough bakes, turn off the heat under the sauce, take the pot off the burner, and set it aside. Grate the mozzarella if using a block.
- 9
Lightly press a line around the dough to mark the crust. Do not press hard; make the line visible without flattening the dough.
- 10
Make small dimples in the dough inside the crust line with your fingers.
- 11
Spoon or ladle the thickened tomato sauce over the dough, stopping at the crust line. Use as little or as much sauce as you like.
- 12
If desired, sprinkle a pinch of oregano and a pinch of garlic powder over the sauce. The creator recommends putting the oregano under the cheese. Do not add salt; the sauce and cheese are described as providing enough.
- 13
Add as much or as little grated mozzarella as you like. If using it, sprinkle grated Parmesan over the mozzarella.
- 14
Return the dish to the 400°F (200°C) oven and bake for 6–8 minutes, until cooked to your liking. The creator baked theirs for about 7 minutes.
- 15
Remove the pizza from the oven and let it rest for 3–4 minutes before serving; it will be very hot.
Notes
The source also begins a separate chicken-nugget recipe, but this extraction covers the pizza portion described first. The source does not give the tomato sauce can size or a precise amount of sauce, and says cheese and seasonings may be adjusted to taste. Biscuit dough is used rather than pizza dough.
