Ingredients

  • 500 g frozen shrimp (thawed and drained)
  • 0.25 główki red cabbage (finely shredded)
  • 1 cucumber (cut into thin strips or grated)
  • 1 large carrot (grated or cut into thin strips)
  • 0.5 pęczka spring onions (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 0.5 lime (juice)
  • 4 tbsp plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp sriracha sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 0.333 tsp salt
  • 4 arkusze rice paper
  • 8 tbsp oil for frying (amount provided by the author; some oil may remain in the pan)

Steps

  1. 1

Thaw the shrimp, drain them thoroughly, and pat dry with a paper towel. If they have shells or tails, remove them as needed.

  2. 2

Finely shred the red cabbage. Cut or grate the cucumber and carrot into thin strips, then finely chop the spring onions.

  3. 3

Place the cabbage, cucumber, carrot, and spring onions in a bowl. Add the honey and juice of half a lime, then mix to make a light slaw.

  4. 4

In a separate bowl, combine the plain yogurt, mayonnaise, sriracha sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, sesame seeds, and salt. Mix until smooth to make a spicy sauce.

  5. 5

Add the dried shrimp to the prepared sauce and mix until evenly coated.

  6. 6

Heat the frying oil in a pan over medium heat. The oil should be hot but not smoking.

  7. 7

Briefly moisten each sheet of rice paper with water to soften it, then fold it in half or shape it into a taco.

  8. 8

Fry the rice paper in the hot oil, preferably holding its shape with tongs, until it becomes firm and crispy. Turn it as needed so it browns evenly.

  9. 9

Transfer the fried tacos to a paper towel to drain excess oil. Repeat with the remaining sheets.

  10. 10

Fill each crispy taco with slaw and the shrimp spread. Serve immediately, before the rice paper softens.

Notes

The description does not include detailed preparation instructions, so the order and technique were supplemented based on the listed ingredients and the nature of the dish. The tacos are best filled just before serving, as the slaw and sauce may soften the rice paper. The per-serving macros provided by the author are approximate and may depend on the amount of oil absorbed during frying.
