Ingredients
- 2 Panini bread (Bread of your choice, halved and with the crumb slightly flattened)
- 2 Tomatoes (Sliced)
- 125 g Fresh mozzarella (Sliced)
- 60 g Cream cheese
- 30 g Pesto
- 60 g Serrano ham (Thinly sliced)
- Olive oil (A drizzle, approximately 2 tsp)
- Salt (To taste)
- Black pepper (To taste)
Steps
- 1
Wash the tomatoes and cut them into slices. Also slice the fresh mozzarella into slices of similar thickness so it is distributed evenly in the paninis.
- 2
Open the panini breads. Using your fingers or the back of a spoon, gently flatten the crumb on the inside to create space for the filling without breaking the crust.
- 3
Spread the cream cheese on the inside of each bread.
- 4
Add the pesto over the cream cheese and spread it evenly.
- 5
Place the Serrano ham slices inside the breads.
- 6
Add the tomato and fresh mozzarella slices, ensuring the filling is evenly distributed and the breads can close.
- 7
Drizzle the paninis with a little olive oil and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- 8
Place the paninis in the air fryer basket without overlapping them. Cook at 180 °C for approximately 12 minutes, until the bread is golden and crispy and the mozzarella is hot and melted.
- 9
Alternatively, bake them at 180 °C for approximately 18 minutes, until they reach the same golden, crispy finish.
- 10
Remove the paninis, let them rest for 1 or 2 minutes so the cheese is not excessively runny, and serve them hot.
Notes
The quantities are approximate, as the original publication does not specify measurements. The recipe calls for 12 minutes in an air fryer at 180 °C or approximately 18 minutes in an oven at the same temperature. Keep an eye on the bread during the last few minutes to prevent it from burning.
