Weights are estimates. Together, the ingredients weigh about 695 g before cooking, which is about 60 g per serving.
Steps
Ensure the bread pan is clean and the kneading paddle is securely attached.
Add the warm water, vegetable oil, sugar, and salt to the bread pan.
Add the bread flour on top of the liquid ingredients, ensuring it covers the water completely.
Make a small indentation (a well) in the center of the flour, being careful not to reach the liquid layer.
Pour the active dry yeast into the well in the flour.
Place the pan into the bread machine and lock it into place.
Select the 'Basic' or 'White Bread' setting on your machine.
Select the desired loaf size (1.5 lb or 2 lb depending on machine) and crust color (medium is standard).
Press start and allow the machine to complete the kneading, rising, and baking cycles.
Once the baking cycle is complete, carefully remove the pan from the machine and let the bread cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
For best results, ensure your yeast is fresh and the water is warm but not hot, as hot water can kill the yeast. If your bread machine has a 'delay start' feature, do not use it with this recipe if using perishable ingredients.
