Weights are estimates. Together, the ingredients weigh about 865 g before cooking, which is about 215 g per serving.
Steps
Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, mix the paprika, garlic powder, cumin, and salt.
Rub the salmon fillets all over with the olive oil, then coat them evenly with the seasoning mixture. Set the seasoned salmon aside while you prepare the skillet.
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the butter and let it melt, then continue cooking until it begins to turn golden brown and smells nutty.
Add the minced garlic to the browning butter. Cook for a couple of minutes, stirring frequently, until fragrant and the butter is fully browned; do not let the garlic burn.
Add the honey to the skillet and stir it into the browned butter and garlic until combined.
Add the thyme sprigs and lemon juice. Stir briefly to combine and let the sauce become hot and fragrant.
Place the seasoned salmon fillets in the skillet. Cook without moving them for about 4–6 minutes on the first side, depending on their thickness, until the underside is browned and the salmon is mostly cooked from the bottom upward.
Turn the salmon carefully and cook for another 4–6 minutes, or until cooked through and flaky. While it cooks, repeatedly spoon the lemon-honey butter sauce over the fillets to baste them.
Taste the sauce and add additional salt and black pepper if needed. Garnish the salmon with sliced green onion and serve immediately with the pan sauce.
Notes
Cooking time varies with the thickness of the fillets. For food safety, cook salmon until it reaches 145°F (63°C) in the thickest part, or until it flakes easily with a fork. Watch the butter and garlic closely while browning, since both can burn quickly.
