Ingredients

  • 125 g Butter (softened)
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 1 Pck. Vanilla sugar (usually about 8 g)
  • 3 Eggs
  • 250 g Flour
  • 1 TL Baking powder (about 4 g)
  • Salt (1 pinch, about 0.5 g)
  • 200 ml Milk

Steps

  1. 1

Beat the softened butter with the sugar and vanilla sugar in a mixing bowl until smooth and creamy.

  2. 2

Add the eggs one at a time, fully incorporating each egg before adding the next.

  3. 3

Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a separate bowl.

  4. 4

Add the flour mixture to the butter-and-egg mixture and stir until a uniform batter forms.

  5. 5

Slowly add the milk while stirring constantly, until a smooth, thick waffle batter forms.

  6. 6

Preheat the waffle iron. Add about 2 heaped tbsp of batter per waffle to the preheated surface and close the iron.

  7. 7

Bake each waffle for about 1–2 minutes, until golden brown. The exact baking time depends on the waffle iron.

  8. 8

Remove the finished waffles and serve with fresh fruit or whipped cream, as desired.

Notes

This recipe makes about 10 waffles. The waffles taste best fresh and warm with fresh fruit or whipped cream.
