Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken (preferably organic)
- 0.5 cup parmesan cheese (for the nuggets)
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp garlic powder (for the nuggets)
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning (for the nuggets)
- salt (a good pinch for the nuggets)
- 0.5 cup mayonnaise (for the sauce)
- 0.5 cup parmesan cheese (for the sauce)
- garlic powder (a pinch for the sauce)
- 2 tbsp butter (melted)
- 0.5 lemon juice (juice of half a lemon)
- crushed red pepper (a dash)
- salt (a pinch for the sauce)
- Italian seasoning (a little dash for the sauce)
Steps
- 1
Place one pound of ground chicken in a large mixing bowl.
- 2
Add a half cup of parmesan cheese to the chicken.
- 3
Add one egg to the bowl.
- 4
Add one tablespoon of onion powder, one tablespoon of garlic powder, one tablespoon of Italian seasoning, and a good pinch of salt.
- 5
Combine the ingredients thoroughly by hand or with a spoon.
- 6
Form the minced chicken mixture into small nugget shapes; you should be able to make approximately 12 nuggets.
- 7
Cook the nuggets at 400°F (200°C) for 10 minutes. You can use an air fryer or an oven set to convection mode.
- 8
While the nuggets are cooking, prepare the sauce by combining a half cup of mayo, a half cup of parmesan cheese, a pinch of garlic powder, two tablespoons of melted butter, the juice of half a lemon, a dash of crushed red pepper, a pinch of salt, and a dash of Italian seasoning.
- 9
Mix the sauce ingredients until well combined.
- 10
When the nuggets are done, transfer them to a clean bowl.
- 11
Pour the sauce over the nuggets and toss them thoroughly until every nugget is well coated.
Notes
If using a standard oven, ensure you use the convection setting to achieve an air-fryer-like crispiness.
