Ingredients

  • 2 cups Kale (chopped into bite-sized pieces)
  • 0.5 cup Cucumber (sliced or diced)
  • 0.25 cup Dried Mealworms (high protein treat)
  • 0.5 cup Peas (fresh or thawed frozen peas)
  • Water (for soaking or serving alongside)

Steps

  1. 1

Prepare a shallow tray or platter that is safe for ducks to eat from. Ensure it is stable and won't tip easily.

  2. 2

Wash all fresh produce thoroughly to remove any pesticides or dirt.

  3. 3

Chop the kale and cucumbers into small, manageable pieces that a duck can easily swallow without choking.

  4. 4

Arrange the kale as a base on the platter, then layer the cucumbers and peas on top.

  5. 5

Sprinkle the dried mealworms over the vegetables as a high-protein garnish.

  6. 6

Serve the platter to the ducks, preferably near a source of fresh water, as ducks need water to help them swallow and digest their food.

Notes

This is intended as a treat and should not replace a balanced organic duck pellet diet. Always ensure ducks have access to water when eating. Avoid feeding ducks bread, onions, garlic, or chocolate.
