Ingredients

  • Chipotles in adobo (finely chopped with some sauce)
  • 1 cup Apple juice
  • 1 lb Ground beef or turkey (browned before adding to slow cooker)
  • 1 Onion (diced)
  • 1 Bell pepper (diced)
  • 2 can Beans (such as kidney or black beans, drained and rinsed)
  • 28 oz Canned tomatoes (crushed or diced)
  • 0.5 tsp Cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp Chili powder
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Shredded cheese (for topping)

Steps

    Brown the ground meat in a skillet over medium-high heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.

    Transfer the browned meat to a slow cooker.

    Add the diced onion, bell pepper, beans, and canned tomatoes to the slow cooker.

    Add the finely chopped chipotles in adobo, ensuring you include some of the sauce for heat.

    Pour in 1 cup of apple juice.
