Ingredients
- 0.5 lb Beef (diced into small cubes)
- 2 tbsp Vegetable oil (for frying)
- 0.5 Red bell pepper (diced)
- 0.5 Green bell pepper (diced)
- 0.5 Yellow bell pepper (diced)
- 0.5 Onion (diced)
- 3 cup Cooked rice (preferably chilled day-old rice)
- 2 tbsp Soy sauce (or to taste)
- 1 tbsp Oyster sauce (optional for depth of flavor)
- Salt and Pepper (to taste)
Steps
- 1
Prepare the ingredients by dicing the beef into small, uniform cubes and chopping the red, green, and yellow bell peppers and onion into a similar size.
- 2
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- 3
Add the diced beef to the hot pan. Season with salt and pepper, and fry until browned on all sides and cooked through.
- 4
Add the diced onions and bell peppers to the pan with the beef. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp and fragrant.
- 5
Add the cooked rice to the skillet, breaking up any clumps with a spatula.
- 6
Pour the soy sauce and oyster sauce over the rice and beef mixture. Toss everything together thoroughly until the rice is evenly coated and heated through.
- 7
Taste and adjust seasoning with additional salt, pepper, or soy sauce if needed. Serve hot.
Notes
The creator suggests using high-quality sauces but warns to watch the sodium levels. For best results with the rice, use leftovers that have been refrigerated, as this prevents the dish from becoming mushy.
