Ingredients
- 2 racks pork baby back ribs (can also use St. Louis style ribs)
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand)
- seasoning (Dale's marinade, rib rub, grill seasoning, or salt and pepper to taste)
Steps
- 1
Preheat your oven to 225°F (107°C).
- 2
Season your ribs generously with Dale's marinade, your favorite rib rub, grill seasoning, or simply salt and pepper.
- 3
Place the ribs, meat side down, into baking dishes.
- 4
Cover the baking dishes tightly with aluminum foil and place them in the preheated oven.
- 5
Bake the ribs. If using small baby back ribs, cook for 3.5 hours. If using regular baby back or St. Louis style ribs, cook for 4 hours.
- 6
Remove the dishes from the oven and carefully drain off the drippings.
- 7
Flip the ribs over using two spatulas (and an extra set of hands if available) so the meat side is facing up. Be very careful, as the meat will be tender enough to fall apart.
- 8
Apply a thick layer of BBQ sauce to the top of the ribs.
- 9
Return the ribs to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 20-30 minutes to set the sauce.
- 10
Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
Notes
For best results, many cooks recommend peeling the silver skin (membrane) off the underside of the ribs before seasoning. If you are short on time, you can bake at 300°F for approximately 3.5 hours until fork-tender. Suggested sides: potato salad and baked beans.
