Ingredients
- 1 espresso lungo coffee (long espresso, must be hot)
- 1 tsp butter (approximately a small piece)
- 0.5 oz maple syrup (you can add more if you prefer more sweetness)
- salt (a pinch)
- ice (for the serving glass)
- 3 oz milk of choice (can be up to 4 oz)
- additional salt (optional, for sprinkling at the end)
Steps
- 1
Prepare your hot espresso lungo coffee in a mixing container.
- 2
Add the piece of butter, the 15 ml of maple syrup, and a pinch of salt to the hot coffee.
- 3
Froth or whisk the mixture until the butter has completely dissolved.
- 4
Add ice to a serving glass.
- 5
Pour between 90 and 120 ml of your preferred milk over the ice.
- 6
Pour the previously prepared espresso mixture over the milk.
- 7
Optionally, sprinkle a little more salt on top before serving.
Notes
The coffee must be very hot when mixed with the butter to ensure it emulsifies correctly. You can adjust the amount of maple syrup according to your sweetness preference.
