Ingredients
- 8 oz short pasta (such as farfalle/bowties)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp chili oil (try to get mostly the oil part and less of the chili flakes/bits)
- 4 tbsp parmesan cheese (grated; plus extra for topping)
- 0.5 tsp garlic powder
- 0.25 tsp salt
Steps
- 1
Boil 8 oz of short pasta (like bowties) for 12 minutes, which is past al-dente. You want the pasta to be overcooked but not mushy.
- 2
Drain the pasta super well! You need the pasta to be very dry for maximum crunch.
- 3
In a bowl, season the cooked pasta with 1 tbsp olive oil, 2 tbsp chili oil, 4 tbsp grated parmesan cheese, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, and 1/4 tsp salt.
- 4
Place the seasoned pasta in the air fryer basket.
- 5
Airfry at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even browning.
- 6
Remove from the air fryer, top with more parmesan cheese, and enjoy!
Notes
For the best texture, ensure the pasta is drained thoroughly before seasoning. If the pasta is too wet, it will steam rather than crisp up in the air fryer.
