Ingredients

  • 2 can Canned Tuna (In brine/water, drained; approx. 150g drained weight per can)
  • 2 Eggs (Size Large)
  • 100 g Oat Bran (Used as a binder)
  • 1 Onion (Small, finely diced)
  • Salt (To taste)
  • Black Pepper (To taste)
  • Paprika Powder (To taste)
  • 1 tbsp Cooking Oil (For frying (e.g., rapeseed or sunflower oil))

Steps

  1. 1

Open the tuna cans and drain the brine or water thoroughly. Place the drained tuna into a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

Finely dice the onion and add it to the bowl with the tuna.

  3. 3

Add 100g of oat bran to the mixture.

  4. 4

Crack two eggs into the bowl to act as a binding agent.

  5. 5

Season the mixture generously with salt, black pepper, and paprika powder.

  6. 6

Mix all ingredients thoroughly using a fork or your hands until a cohesive, moldable mass is formed.

  7. 7

Shape the mixture into equal-sized patties.

  8. 8

Heat a tablespoon of oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat.

  9. 9

Place the patties in the pan and fry for approximately 4-5 minutes per side until they are golden brown and firm.

Notes

Markus emphasizes that this is a 'heavy' meal designed for high protein intake. If the mixture is too wet, add a little more oat bran; if too dry, add a splash of water or another egg.
