Weights are estimates. Together, the ingredients weigh about 485 g before cooking, which is about 40 g per serving.
Steps
Line a small square baking dish or loaf pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang to make the slice easy to remove.
Add 1 cup of smooth peanut butter, the maple syrup, and the coconut oil to a mixing bowl. Stir until the mixture is completely smooth and evenly combined.
Add the dark chocolate chips to the peanut butter mixture and stir to distribute them throughout. If desired, melt some of the chips first and swirl the melted chocolate through the mixture.
Transfer the mixture to the lined dish and smooth the surface with a spatula so it forms an even layer.
Place the dish in the freezer for 30 minutes, or until the base is firm enough to support the topping.
Melt 1/2 cup of dark chocolate, or use leftover melted chocolate chips, in a heatproof bowl. Melt it gently in short microwave intervals or over a pan of barely simmering water, stirring until smooth.
Stir 1 tablespoon of peanut butter into the melted chocolate until fully incorporated and glossy.
Pour the chocolate topping over the chilled peanut butter base and spread it into an even layer. Return the dish to the freezer until the topping is set.
Transfer the slice to the refrigerator for 1 hour before cutting. Lift it out using the parchment overhang, slice into pieces, and serve.
Notes
Keep refrigerated after setting. For cleaner slices, let the slab sit briefly at room temperature and use a sharp knife warmed under hot water, then dried. The amount of chocolate chips mixed into the base was not specified in the source, so it is shown as to taste/an estimate for nutrition purposes.
