Ingredients

  • 2 cup bread flour (plus up to 1/4 cup more if needed)
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 packet Fleischmann’s® RapidRise™ Yeast (7g packet)
  • 1 cup warm water

Steps

  1. 1

In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups of the bread flour, the granulated sugar, salt, and the packet of Fleischmann’s® RapidRise™ Yeast until well combined.

  2. 2

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the warm water.

  3. 3

Using your hands, mix the ingredients together until a dough forms. The dough will be sticky at this stage, but it will come together during the kneading process.

  4. 4

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for approximately 5 minutes, or until the texture starts to smooth out. If the dough remains too sticky to handle, add the remaining 1/4 cup of flour one tablespoon at a time until it is dry enough to work with.

  5. 5

Form the kneaded dough into a ball and place it into a greased bowl. Cover the bowl loosely with a dish cloth and set it in a warm place to rise for 10 minutes.

  6. 6

Preheat your oven to 500°F (260°C).

  7. 7

After the 10-minute rise, turn the dough out onto a clean work surface or a piece of parchment paper. Stretch the dough out into a 12-inch round.

  8. 8

Place the dough onto a pizza stone or baking sheet. Top with your preferred sauce, cheese, and toppings.

  9. 9

Bake at 500°F for 10 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  10. 10

Allow the pizza to cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

Use bread flour instead of all-purpose for a chewier texture due to the higher protein content. Do not overwork the dough after the 10-minute rise to ensure the air stays in the crust. The dough is ready when it has almost doubled in size and holds an indent when poked.
