Ingredients

  • 110 g peeled apple (Cut into small pieces; preferably sweet and cored.)
  • 50 g almond flour
  • 50 g baby rolled oats (For a gluten-free preparation, use certified gluten-free oats.)
  • 30 g unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 g baking soda
  • liquid sweetener (As needed, optional; add it if you want sweeter cereal or if the apple is not very sweet.)

Steps

  1. 1

Preheat the convection oven to 180 °C. If you prefer to use an air fryer, set it to 160 °C shortly before cooking.

  2. 2

Place the peeled and chopped apple, almond flour, rolled oats, unsweetened cocoa powder, and baking soda in a blender. Blend until smooth and moldable. If you want a sweeter result, add liquid sweetener as needed and blend briefly to incorporate it.

  3. 3

Take small portions of the dough and shape them into small balls, sized as desired for the cereal. If the dough sticks, lightly dampen or grease your hands.

  4. 4

Arrange the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving a small amount of space between them to promote even cooking.

  5. 5

Bake in a convection oven at 180 °C for 30–35 minutes, checking doneness according to the size of the balls and the characteristics of your oven. Alternatively, cook in an air fryer at 160 °C for about 12–15 minutes.

  6. 6

Always check and adjust the cooking time and temperature according to your appliance and the size of the cereal pieces. They should be dry and crunchy.

  7. 7

Allow the Coco Pops to cool completely before serving: they will become much crunchier as they cool. Enjoy them with milk or as a snack.

Notes

The post states that the cereal is gluten-free, lactose-free, contains no added sugar, and is vegan. To keep it gluten-free, choose certified gluten-free oats. The crunchiness increases as they cool; do not eat them immediately after baking if you want the described texture.
